A 2007 article by Tory Johnson, Founder and CEO of Women for Hire, noted a poll that showed 70% of executives believe age discrimination in the workplace has increased in the last five years. Increase your success by:

• Not letting ego or fear get in the way. Work on your attitude
• Showcasing relevant examples that demonstrate your energy
• Highlighting that you are a lifetime learner, i.e. technology
• More fully using networking to overcome age barriers
• Including work history with dates for 10-15 years back unless earlier experiences are more relevant
• Removing dates from education if older than 15 years
• Looking in the mirror and making adjustments as needed
